Frank Demaree started out as a big star in the Pacific Coast League where he starred for the Los Angeles Angels. Brought up to the Cubs in 1932, Demaree was a big part of Chicago’s 1932, 1935 and 1938 pennants. Although he was often overshadowed by Kiki Cuyler, Gabby Hartnett and Billy Herman, Demaree was a solid hitter for over a decade.
This bat was used by the outfielder when he was closing out his career with the St. Louis Cardinals and Browns during the war. The Hillerich & Bradsby pro model bat shows heavy use with a repaired handle crack. The knob has been chipped and a piece is absent. Several clear ball marks are visible along with cleat imprints. This is a great bat from a two-time pre-war All-Star and comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (I02815) for the game use.
