Sportswriters called Andy Pafko “Handy Andy” for his indispensable contributions in getting three different teams to the World Series - the 1945 Cubs, 1952 Dodgers and 1957-58 Braves. This Hillerich & Bradsby bat dates from Pafko’s rookie year in Chicago through the 1945 pennant winning season. The bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. A chip is missing from the knob end and many ball marks and cleat imprints are visible on the barrel. The handle has been taped in a unique spiral pattern and PSA/DNA have discovered a period photo of Pafko using bats with this same tape application. A great gamer from a member of the 1945 pennant winning Cubbies. This bat comes with a full LOAs from MEARS (314730), grading this bat an A9 and PSA/DNA (1B06334), which graded this bat a GU 9.
