Playing in the Western Conference, the Illinois Fighting Illini finished the 1946 college football season with a record of 8-2. Illinois topped off their season with a 45-14 victory over UCLA in the Rose Bowl. Alex Agase, who had returned to his playing days after serving as a U.S. Marine in World War II, was named an All-American as a member of the Fighting Illini. Offered here is a 10K gold 1946 Illinois football Western Conference champions award presented to Agase. This football-shaped pendant features a dark blue letter “I” along with the year 1946 and “WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS”. Also appearing on the pendant is an engraving of “A. AGASE, G” as well as a 10K mark. This item weighs an approximate 6.8 grams. This item comes with a letter of provenance from the Agase family.
