In the annals of baseball history, few players have impacted the game more than Jackie Robinson. He was the first African-American athlete to play in the majors in the 20th Century, the first to win the MVP Award (1949), and the first to be enshrined at Cooperstown. Robinson had the added distinction of being the first-ever Rookie of the Year (1947) and he was also the first baseball player, of any ethnicity, to appear as the identified subject on an American postage stamp. While Babe Ruth changed the game of baseball with his mighty home run swing, Jackie Robinson changed all of America, providing inspiration and serving as an example of courage under fire for people of all races. The Dodgers great has signed the front of this original 1947-66 Exhibit Supply Company arcade card. Rendered in blue ink, the boldly penned scripting occupies the left-side aspect of the otherwise unmarked, approximately 3-3/8" x 5-3/8" collectible, An ideal medium for an ideal signature! Robinson, a 1962 Cooperstown enshrinee, passed away in 1972.
