Offered here is a 1947-48 press pass to “intercollegiate and professional basketball” at Boston Garden. This pass was valid for the second half of the Boston Celtics first ever season as a member of the BAA in 1946-47. The Celtics finished the year 22-38, although within a few seasons the legendary Red Auerbach would join the Celtics and turn the fortune of basketball in Boston forever. This press pass was issued to Hal Newell of Boston’s WEEI Radio. This pass has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (21142282).
