Jackie Robinson, in his rookie season, helped lead the Brooklyn Dodgers to 94 wins and the 1947 National League pennant. Robinson hit .297 with 125 runs scored and 29 stolen bases. Pee Wee Reese, on the strength of 104 walks, posted a .414 on-base percentage while Pete Reiser (.309 average, .415 OBP) and Dixie Walker (.306 average, .415 OBP) posted near-identical impressive numbers. The Dodgers roster also included youngsters Gil Hodges and Duke Snider. On the mound, Ralph Branca won 21 games while posting a 2.67 ERA. Brooklyn ultimately lost the World Series, in seven games, to the New York Yankees.

Presented here is a 14K gold 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers National League championship ring that was given to team scout Ken Johnson, featuring a single real diamond set in the center of a large blue stone. “BROOKLYN BASEBALL CLUB” appears in relief lettering around the bezel setting. “DODGERS” appears on each of the ring’s sides. The inside of the ring – which shows some wear around it – includes the MURCHISON/NEWARK manufacturer mark, the recipient’s name (partially worn off), the year 1947 and a “14K” mark. This ring is an approximate size 9 and weighs approximately 25.2 grams. This ring comes with a LOA from Bob Meyer, the grandson of Ken Johnson.
