The 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers is one of the most storied teams in sports history. Its story is one of the greatest examples of how humans can turn ignorance and adversity into a triumphant moment that changes the world for the best. That in a nutshell is what Jackie Robinson’s presence on the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 accomplished. Besides being the first integrated Major League team in the 20th Century, the Dodgers, inspired by Jackie Robinson’s explosive talent and resilience in the face of racial animosity, pulled together and won their first pennant since 1941.

13 members of this trailblazing team have signed this Spalding Official National League Ford Frick ball. No 1947 Dodgers ball would be complete without the signature of Jackie Robinson and this ball does not disappoint. Robinson signed his name in a black steel-tipped fountain pen on the south panel. The remaining signatures have also been signed in black and include Al Gionfriddo, Harry Taylor, John “Spider” Jorgensen, George Dockins, Clyde King, Gene Hermanski, Hal Gregg, Carl Furillo, Hank Behrman, Tommy Brown, Bob Bragan and one other. This ball is in good condition, displaying only minor toning and the stampings still clear. This comes with a LOA from JSA (X25914).
