In a career that stretched over three different decades, Bobby Doerr was the rock of the Boston Red Sox infield. Often referred to as the best second baseman in the history of the game, Doerr played on nine All-Star teams on the way to the Hall of Fame. In 1948, the season he was swinging this bat, Doerr hit .285 while setting a new fielding record by handling 414 chances without an error. The Hillerich & Bradsby G69 model bat is un-cracked and shows outstanding use. The barrel has many ball marks with stitch impressions along with bat rack paint streaks and cleat imprints. The handle retains a light coat of pine tar. A museum worthy piece of baseball history. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15222) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.
