Army end Hank Foldberg wore this red, white, and blue football jersey in the 1948 Chicago Charities College All-Star football game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Foldberg, a 1946 First Team All-America selection, left Army after the 1948 NCAA football season to join Branch Rickey’s Brooklyn Dodgers football team in the AAFC, playing in two professional football seasons before moving into the college football coaching world.
This offered College Football All-Stars jersey is blue, with white shoulders and an alternating red, white, and blue pattern on the sides. Red tackle twill stars are sewn on the shoulders. Foldberg’s number “44” is sewn on the chest and back in white tackle twill. The jersey features a period-appropriate six-button crotch strap.
