     William Harridge was a former baseball executive, best known for his time spent as the President of the American League. Harridge was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972. This letter, sent on June 17th, 1948, features Harridge thanking Yankee Vice-President George Weiss for hosting him at the Yankee Stadium Silver Anniversary festivities on the 13th of June. This event would become most famous for being Babe Ruth’s final public appearance at Yankee Stadium. Harridge typed the letter on official American League stationary. He signed the bottom of the letter in black pen. This item comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (AA06091). Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price of this lot and all lots in this auction to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum.
