Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29

Presented is this vintage birthday card given to one of the daughters of legendary executive Branch Rickey. Rickey, who was the man responsible for bringing Jackie Robinson into the Majors as the first African-American ballplayer, signed this birthday card, along with 24 members of the National League Champion Brooklyn Dodgers team.
There are two cards presented in this 11 x 16 inch matted and framed display. The first card, measuring 4 ½ x 6 inches, is a cream-colored card that reads “BIRTHDAY GREETINGS DAUGHTER WITH LOVE” with a colored rose bouquet design. The second card, measuring 8 ½ x 6 inches, features the 25 total signatures with a printed message that reads “Birthday wishes For the best life can give, And may you be happy As long as you live, And do whatever you do In the course of the year May it bring joy And bless you, dear!”.
The signature card has a fold mark with the left side containing the signatures of Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, Rex Barney, Cal Abrams, Clarence Podbielan, Bruce Edwards, Hall of Famer “Pee Wee” Reese, Spider Jorgensen, Carl Furillo, Hank Behrman, Buddy Hicks, Joe Hatten, Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, Pat McGlothin, Ralph Branca, Tommy Brown, Gil Hodges, Eddie Miksis, Billy Cox, Harry Taylor and Gene Hermanski. The right side of the fold has the signatures of Hall of Famer Duke Snider, Carl Erskine, Don Newcombe, Marv Rackley, manager Burt Shotton and Hall of Famer Branch Rickey. There is an inscription that reads “from your pals and your Pop 1949”. The signatures have been signed in both blue and black ink. This multi-signed item comes with a full LOA from JSA (Y33623).
