Offered is a late 1949 Boston Red Sox home button-down flannel jersey worn by Ellis Kinder. This flannel Wilson size 44 jersey is tagged with a period Wilson tag and “44” size flap tag in the collar. Major League jerseys from this period were typically tagged by both Wilson as manufacturer and McAuliffe as the distributor and “Kinder” is chain stitched under the collar. “RED SOX” is sewn on across the chest in Tuscan font red and navy felt. Red chenille piping runs around the placket and collar, along with two lines on each sleeve. There is some fraying of the chenille stitching on the right front and on parts of the collar. A “49” patch is sewn on the inside center left tail. The back has Kinder’s number “16” sewn on in McAullife-style red and navy felt.
