Presented here is a collection of hockey photographs from 1954 through 1957, as well as three composition books featuring every box score from the 1954-55 Detroit Red Wings season, as well as articles about Maurice Richard’s suspension and the backlash against NHL president Clarence Campbell that followed. The Red Wings won that edition of the Stanley Cup Finals, defeating the Montreal Canadiens in a seven game series. In the second game, Red Wings left winger Ted Lindsay set a Stanley Cup Finals record with four goals in a game, leading the Wings to a 7-1 victory. Gordie Howe was the top scorer in the series, amassing 12 points in the final round. This was the Red Wings second consecutive Stanley Cup victory, and it would be their last until 1997.

The pictures in this collection were taken at the Boston Garden, and include pictures of legends such as Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard, Gump Worsley, Jean Beliveau, and Terry Sawchuk. Other photographs include group photographs of Warren Godfrey, Marcell Pronovost, Ted Lindsay, Alex Delvecchio, and Bill Dineen of the Red Wings; Jerry Topazzini, Fernie Flaman, and Doug Mohns of the Boston Bruins; Floyd Smith, George Ranieri, and Johnny Peirson of the Bruins, and Jean Beliveau, Jack LeClair, Maurice Richard, and Bert Olmstead of the Montreal Canadiens. Other individual photographs include Doug Mohns, Leo Labine, Lynn Patrick, Cal Gardner, Fernie Flaman, Allan Stanley, Real Chevrefils, Don Simmons (x2), Jack LeClair, Floyd Curry, Al Arbour, and Bucky Hollingworth. These photographs are all black and white and measure roughly 4 x 4 inches.
