This fantastic tile display piece featuring the mythic Babe Ruth hung in Yankee Stadium, “The House That Ruth Built”, for decades before the restoration of Yankee Stadium in the 1970’s. Framed to a dimension of 38 x 18 inches, the visible area of this wall tile measures approximately 30 x 11 inches. Text on the face of this tile reads “Babe Ruth / With the Yankees 1920-34” and “The crowd is hushed in ‘The House That Ruth Built’ as the greatest home run hitter of all time says goodbye on June 13, 1948. It was the last appearance for Yankee uniform Number 3. Just two months later, on August 16, 1948, The Babe passed away. He had played for 22 years, 15 of them with the Yankees, hit 714 home runs and his lifetime batting average was .342.” A picture of Ruth standing in front of the Yankee Stadium crowd during his final appearance in the Bronx is included next to the text. This one-of-a-kind tile is a tremendous display piece for any fan of the Bronx Bombers!
