Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Rookie Card. Among more than 800 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just two examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. By 1952, the scrappy Billy Martin had become the regular second baseman for the Yankees. His defensive gem in Game 7 of that year's Series helped snuff the Dodgers' late-inning rally, enabling another Yankee title. (His clutch play would continue to be demonstrated in the Fall Classic, and was highlighted by a World Series MVP Award in 1953.) The offered, first-year gum card of Martin is a vintage treasure, in Near Mint to Mint condition.
