Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by PSA/DNA (Cert. #E69781). The Dodgers coach has placed a strong, blue ink signature on the obverse of this otherwise unmarked 1952 Topps "High Number" gum card. Pitler, a former player and a respected major league coach, died in 1968 at the age of 73. His passing preceded the formation of the organized collecting hobby, and his signature is seldom encountered in today's market. Pitler was inducted into the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
