Graded 20 FR 1.5 by SGC. Hall of Famer. Bowman's third Mantle card is regarded by many as the company's proudest effort. It features a magnificent photo of Mantle in his follow-through swing. "The Mick" looks like a youngster in his pinstripes (he was 21 years old in this photo) and the blue sky makes for a perfect backdrop. This is, of course, the key card in the '53 Bowman Color issue and a cornerstone to any 1950's baseball collection. The well-circulated example offered here concedes several relatively small creases (most notably at the top edge and bottom-left corner) and a few specks of surface scuffing, but retains a credibly pleasing overall appearance. Fair condition.
