Graded 84 NM 7 by SGC. Hall of Famer. Among more than five hundred copies recorded in SGC’s census reporting, just fourteen examples have been graded higher. Topps' selection of Jackie Robinson as the first subject in the company's 1953 issue inadvertently created one of the hobby's most popular (and frustrating) condition rarities. The collectible is very difficult to find without visually troublesome signs of wear, especially in the unforgiving black caption area. The offered card's colors are bright and clear, and this attribute, coupled with the card's high level of original gloss, marvelously projects Jackie's portrait from the surface. Near Mint condition.
