Offered is a 1954 Hank Aaron rookie season lineup card from August 21, 1954. The blue paper lineup card is pre-printed in black with the legend "On Road Official Batting Order Club Milwaukee" across the top. The batting order is filled out in black pen as follows: 1. Bruton 2. O'Connell 3. Mathews 4. Aaron 5. Adcock 6. Pafko 7. Logan 8. Crandall 9. Nichols. On August 21, 1954 the Chicago Cubs beat the Braves, 5-2, at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Aaron went 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. The Hall of Fame outfielder made his Major League Baseball debut on April 13, 1954 with the Milwaukee Braves. Hewas hitless in five at-bats against the Cincinnati Reds' left-hander Joe Nuxhall. On April 15, Aaron collected his first major league hit, a double off Cardinals' pitcher Vic Raschi. Aaron hit his first major league home run on April 23, also off Raschi. Over the next 122 games, Aaron batted .280 with 13 homers before he suffered a fractured ankle on September 5. Aaron, who played 23 seasons in the Majors from 1954 through 1976, is widely regarded as one of the greatest baseball players in history. Aaron spent 21 seasons with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves in the National League and two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers in the American League. His 755 career home runs broke the long-standing MLB record set by Babe Ruth and stood as the most for 33 years; Aaron still holds many other MLB batting records. He hit 24 or more home runs every year from 1955 through 1973 and is one of only two players to hit 30 or more home runs in a season at least 15 times. In 1999, "The Sporting News" ranked Aaron fifth on its list of the "100 Greatest Baseball Players". In 1982, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
