Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, and the condition-sensitive "Last Card" in its set. Among nearly 2,700 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just eleven examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. The ever-appreciated final entry in Topps' 1954 release commemorates the Red Sox icon in creative style. Having dispensed with Ted's standard, "Biography and Official Baseball Statistics," on the set's first card, Topps was free to portray the slugger in entertaining cartoon panels on the reverse of number 250. On the offered specimen, these present fabulously, and constitute one of the very infrequent instances where a card's back is as visually captivating as its front. Concentrating on the card's obverse yields full satisfaction, as well. The completely pleasing piece displays sharp corners, like-new freshness and exceptional aesthetics. Near Mint to Mint condition.
