For the second time in the decade Leo Durocher was able to steer his Giants into the World Series. Whereas 1951 went down to the wire, his 1954 team won by a comfortable margin, with aces Sal Maglie, Johnny Antonelli and Ruben Gomez combining to win 52 games between them. The Giants then faced the much-favored Indians in the Series but surprised the world by sweeping the 111-game winners in 4-straight. 28 members of the World Champion Giants have signed this Spalding Official National League Giles ball in blue pen including Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Monte Irvin, Hoyt Wilhelm, Leo Durocher (clubhouse), plus Dusty Rhodes, Johnny Antonelli, Ray Katt, Don Mueller, Whitey Lockman, Hank Thompson, Sal Maglie, Windy McCall, Larry Jensen, Al Worthington, Marv Grissom, Bill Taylor, Paul Giel, Wes Westrum, Jim Hearn, Foster Castleman, Davey Williams, Don Liddle, Al Dark, Ruben Gomez, Alex Konikoowski, Bob Hofman, Joe Amalfitano, and Al Corwin. The ball is in beautiful condition creating the perfect background for these black ink signatures to pop off of. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (BB34295) for the signatures.
