1955 looked like business as usual as the Yankees cruised to their sixth pennant in seven years. Meeting their familiar foe in the World Series, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Yanks came within one game of winning another World Championship. Regardless, the Yankees 1955 squad fielded no less than four future Hall of Famers. Mickey Mantle led the AL in home runs, triples, slugging percentage, and Whitey Ford led in most wins and complete games. Presented here is an Official League baseball signed by 27 members of the 1955 American League Champion New York Yankees. There are 27 signatures on the baseball with key signatures from Hall of Famers Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, Whitey Ford, Phil Rizzuto, and Mickey Mantle. Other notable signatures include Bill Skowron, Joe Collins, Bob Turley, Tommy Byrne, Frank Crosetti, Elston Howard, and Jim Turner. Please note that the signature of Casey Stengel is deemed a clubhouse signature, a common practice of clubhouse/locker room personnel signing on behalf of an athlete or coach. The signatures are bold, and the ball features fading of the red stitching and an even amount of light toning throughout. The Official League baseball signed by 27 members of the 1955 New York Yankees comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (AJ08985) and is graded NM-MT 8 for the signatures and an overall ball grade of NM 7.
