While his first four seasons in New York were nothing short of prodigious, 1955 was the year Mickey Mantle came into his own. Always regarded as one of the greatest young stars in the game, Mantle was often accused of not living up to his potential. In 1955 he surpassed even the highest expectations. Banging out 37 homers and leading the league in triples, slugging and on base percentage, 1955 was the season Mickey Mantle became MICKEY MANTLE.

Mantle’s 1955 Hillerich & Bradsby K55 model bat offered here displays outstanding game use and has a crack on the handle that has been professionally repaired. As one would expect from a Mickey gamer, this bat has many ball marks, stitch impressions present on the barrel. The bat’s model number “K55” is stamped on the knob. A great gamer from Mantle’s breakout season and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the game use and has been graded a GU 8. Additionally, there is a LOA from MEARS for the game use, who graded this bat an A7.5.

Please Note: PSA/DNA has reviewed the bat and has graded the Bat an 8.  The catalog and old Letter of Authentication refer to the bat being graded a 7, however the lsiting will be updated with a new LOA from PSA/DNA shortly reflecting the grade of 8.
