Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his desirable “Rookie Card” appearance. Among more than 6,300 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just forty-one examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. The rookie card of a pitcher whose name became synonymous with excellence and domination, and who accomplished great things at an early age. Koufax retired in his prime and was enshrined at Cooperstown in 1972 – before he turned 40. This piece is a sharp and desirable memento of the then 20-year-old future phenomenon. Highlights include visually perfect corners, with magnification revealing only a hint of wear at the bottom right. This example exhibits great focus and strong bright color. Centering is very slightly to the bottom. Every major baseball card collection should include a high-grade Koufax rookie, and this one is a prime specimen. Near Mint to Mint condition with beautiful color and clarity, and no trace of the issue’s often-seen print marks.
