Presented is a 1955 World Series Champion Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed Cooperstown Bat Co. commemorative baseball bat with the signature of 12 members of the 1955 Dodgers team, all in blue marker. The 12 signatures, across the barrel of the bat, include Baseball Hall of Famers Don Drysdale, Sandy Koufax, Duke Snider, Billy Herman and Pee Wee Reese, as well as Johnny Podres, Don Zimmer, Carl Erskine, Don Newcombe, Joe Black, Johnny Podres and Ralph Branca. This bat features a blue and red commemorative panel highlighting “dem Bums” from Brooklyn (1890-1957) with the legend “World Champions: 1955!”. Although the Dodgers had won several pennants in the past and had won as many as 105 games in 1953, it had never won a World Series. This team finished 13½ games ahead in the National League pennant race, leading the league in both runs scored and fewest runs allowed. In the 1955 World Series, they finally beat their crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees, 4 games to 3. It was the Dodgers first and only World Series championship won while located in Brooklyn. This item comes with a full LOA from JSA (B65778).
