Hall of Famer Warren Spahn has signed this game used Milwaukee Braves circa 1956 hat. The 1956 season saw Spahn post a record of 20-11 with an ERA of 2.78 and 128 strikeouts. Spahn earned the eighth of his 17 All-Star selections of his career for his efforts during the 1956 season. Spahn’s illustrious career saw the left-handed pitcher lead the NL in wins 8 times, and the 1957 World Series champion was named the NL Cy Young Award winner in 1957. Spahn pitched two no-hitters during his tenure on the mound and was a three-time NL ERA leader and a four-time NL strikeout leader. Spahn was enshrined in Cooperstown on the first ballot in 1973.
This presented navy six-panel hat features a red button on the top and a red brim. The Milwaukee Braves “M” logo is embroidered in white on the front of the hat. “SPAHN 6 7/8” is embroidered in red on the inside sweatband. A Wilson “PROFESSIONAL CAP MADE IN U.S.A. WILSON SPORTING GOODS CO.” tag is located on the inside sweatband. Spahn signed his name across the brim of the hat with a black marker. The signature is clear, and the hat displays moderate evidence of game use and contains stains on the inside sweatband and white stains on the outside of the hat. The item comes with an LOA from J.T. Sports (1438) for the game use and an LOA from JSA (XX19513) for the signature.
