The Pittsburgh-based Dapper Dan Club is the country’s oldest philanthropical sports organization. Since the 1930’s, the Dapper Dan Club held an annual banquet recognizing the best sportsmen in the nation. In 1956 it was Yogi Berra’s turn to receive recognition by the Dapper Dans. This sterling silver plated bowl measures 9 inches in diameter and is 4 ½ inches tall. “Larry (Yogi) Berra New York Yankees Catcher Dapper Dan Club Award for Outstanding Achievement in Baseball During 1956 Jan. 20, 1957” is engraved on the front of the piece. The bowl shows minimal scuffing and overall there is some warping of the shape and the rim has been bent in one place. The bowl comes with a full LOA from Steiner for its Yogi Berra Estate provenance.
