Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
1956 marked the end of Jackie Robinson’s famed career. Rather than accept a trade to the Dodgers bitter rivals, the New York Giants, Robinson decided to hang up his spikes and enter the next phase of his life. In May of 1956, just before the start of his final season, Robinson was the guest of honor at the Pitney Bowes Employee Association annual sports banquet, along with Maurice Magliola.
Robinson signed the front cover of this program, adding the inscription “Best wishes”. Both the signature and his inscription were written in blue ballpoint pen. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (X97240).
