Elvis brought his unique style of R&B music into the homes of mainstream America in the mid-1950s, and the culture hasn't been the same since. As popular today as he was 60 years ago, Elvis inspired generations of musicians and fans – not to mention collectors of trading cards! The offered set, released by Topps under its "Bubbles, Inc." pseudonym, is noted for its colorful depictions of "The King" in acting as well as singing roles. In addition, cardback write-ups gave young Americans insight about their idol's career, his movies and even his personal preferences.

Our consignor has been a fan of Elvis' music, he recalls, since the early-1970s when his Dad would play Elvis songs on the 8-track player in the family's 1971 Ford Pinto. Nearly thirty years later, inspired by fond, nostalgic memories, he began collecting the 1956 Topps "Elvis Presley" cards. The quest became almost a twenty-year effort, as he diligently sought high-grade singles and sets to upgrade the project. In all, twenty-five complete, high-grade sets and hundreds of high-grade PSA examples were examined to yield this stellar and refined, hand-picked assembly.
