Like a fine wine, Stan Musial seemed to get better with age. While other ballplayers peaked in their twenties and slowed dramatically in their thirties, Stan The Man continued to post dramatic numbers well into his late thirties. In 1958, the year after Stan won the NL Batting Crown at age 37, the Cardinals legend hit .337 with 17 home runs and 37 extra base hits, and the fear he struck into the hearts of opposing pitches is shown in his league-leading 26 intentional bases on balls. This well-used 1958-59 gamer shows all the damage being of the greatest hitters in the game can inflict on his bat. Stan’s Adirondack 57B model bat displays outstanding use with a handle crack. The barrel is covered with many ball marks and stitch impressions and both ends show scuffing from contact with the ground. Just looking at the use on this bat one can tell it was one of Musial’s favorites. The model number “57B” stamped into the knob. The ash has aged to a golden yellow upon which The Man’s black marker signature with “HOF 69” really pops. A stunning Musial gamer from the latter stages of his Hall of Fame career. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14816) for the game use and has been graded a high grade of GU 8.5 and a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
