The 1958 NBA All-Star Game was played at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri on January 21st, 1958 in front of a crowd of 12,854 fans where the East squad, led by Boston Celtics legends and Hall of Famers Bill Russell, Bob Cousy and Bill Sharman defeated the West 130-118. Bob Pettit, of the hometown St. Louis Hawks, led all scorers with 28 points and was named the game’s MVP – despite being on the losing team.
Presented here is 14 karat gold Lord Elgin watch that was presented to Hall of Famer Bill Russell at the 1958 All-Star Game where he was a starter alongside two of his Boston teammates and fellow Hall of Famers, Bob Cousy and Bill Sharman, along with Dolph Schayes of the Syracuse Nationals and Willie Naulls of the New York Knicks. The flex band watch has a direct read style face with “NBA 1958” and “ALL-STARS” engraved vertically into the outside front along with the “LORD ELGIN” and the manufacturers logo in the center. The back face of the watch has etched is “Bill Russell” and “EAST-WEST GAME - JANUARY 21, 1958 - ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI”. The watch is in good overall condition with some surface scratching. The watch is currently not in working condition.
