Offered here is an incredible photograph of a young Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was then known as Lew Alcindor. In this picture, which is dated to 1958, shows the future NBA all-time leading scorer and Hall of Famer already towering over his then teammates. There are 19 kids pictured and a coach. Kareem, who was 10 or 11 in this 8 x 10-inch black and white photo, is centered in the back row, standing almost as tall as his coach. On the bottom of the photograph is printed “1958 Met. St. Jude’s S. D. C.”. A terrific childhood photo of arguably the most dominant player in basketball history.
