Offered is a pair of two tickets to the 1960 Rome Olympics, including a ticket to the boxing competition, when Muhammad Ali (then known as Cassius Clay) won the light heavyweight Gold Medal. The first item in this lot is a full ticket to the quarterfinal match when Clay defeated Gennady Shatkov of the Soviet Union, 5-0, on September 1, 1960.   This ticket has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (1675559) and is graded EX5.

                The second item in this lot is a ticket stub to the Olympic Games, with the image of the “Palazzo Deloo Sport Pugliato” on the back.  This was the venue that hosted the boxing competition. The 1960 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XVII Olympiad (Italian: Giochi della XVII Olimpiade), was held from August 25 to September 11, 1960, in Rome, Italy. Clay advanced from the quarters to the semifinals, beating Australia’s Tony Madigan, 5-0, and then capturing the Gold Medal with a 5-0 victory over Poland’s Zbigniew Pietrzykowski.
