The Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas wore these black high-top football cleats during the 1960s. Unitas debuted with the Baltimore Colts in 1956 and spent the following 17 seasons in Baltimore, before ending his career with a season tossing passes for the San Diego Chargers. The former Louisville star was the NFL’s preeminent signal caller during the 1960s, leading the NFL in both passing yards and passing touchdowns four times apiece. Unitas led the Colts to a Super Bowl V title and three NFL championships while winning three AP NFL MVP trophies and appearing on 10 Pro Bowl rosters. Unitas retired after the 1972 season, and in 1979 was inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame.

These high-top cleats show excellent wear and have seven spikes located on the soles. Please note that the laces are no longer present on these cleats. Unitas’ number “19” is written in black marker on the insoles of each shoe and again on the inside of each tongue. The insides of the shoes are stamped with a size 10 ½ indicator and “262”. These tremendous cleats are a fantastic relic from one of the formative stars of the modern NFL, Johnny Unitas. The cleats come with a Letter of Provenance from the original purchaser of the shoes.
