Presented is a 120-piece complete set of 1961/62 Salada Foods hockey coins. The items are housed in the six very rare original plastic shields (one per team) produced by the manufacturer to enable wall display. Each shield holds 20 players from one of the first six NHL teams: Rangers, Bruins, Maple Leafs, Red Wings, Canadiens, and Blackhawks. The major stars of the period are all included: Howe, Sawchuk, Richard, Beliveau, Geoffrion, Worsley, Mikita, Hull, and Kelly. Each plastic shield has light corner and/or minor edge cracking, usually at its bottom point. The coins presents mostly at the EX/MT to NM level (some lesser) however, technically grade lesser due to the coins being glued into their respective club's shield. The plastic coins' paper inserts reveal generalized toning due to open display.
