In just its second season of existence, the American Football League already had its first back-to-back champions: the Houston Oilers. The team got off to a slow start, but when Assistant Coach Wally Lemm took over at the helm, the George Blanda-led Oilers stormed all the way to the Championship Game and brought home a 7-3 victory over the San Diego Chargers. This 10K-gold, size 11-1/2 ring was issued to a staff member by the last name of Novak, whose first name is no longer visible on the well-worn shank. A 10-point diamond sits atop a multi-faceted blue stone, and the second shank displays the Oiler logo and "AFL CHAMPIONS." EX/EX-MT condition. A 2005 purchase LOA accompanies.
