Despite the technicality that teammate Roger Maris eclipsed Mantle's mark to win the home run title, The Mick's league-leading walks total affirms that he was still the most feared hitter in the junior circuit. The offered Mantle card, a beautiful memento of that historic season, presents very favorably. Just a few, inoffensive printer's dots can be seen at the lower aspect of the obverse illustration, but the player likeness itself is above reproach.
