For people of a certain age, the names of Yogi Berra and Yoo-Hoo went together like Lewis & Clark, Mantle & Maris, and Abbott & Costello. Entrepreneur Natale Olivieri started bottling carbonated fruit drinks in the mid-1920s. However, when he attempted to bottle a chocolate drink, he found that it would soon spoil. Observing his wife canning fruits and vegetables, he asked her to use the same heat processing techniques with his chocolate drink. He began bottling the pasteurized chocolate drink named Yoo-Hoo in New York in 1928. In the 1960s, an advertising campaign tried to appeal to an older public for the drink, and featured Yogi Berra and his New York Yankees teammates. Television commercials of the time featured Berra, in a pin-striped business suit, drinking a bottle of Yoo-hoo, lifting it next to his cheek, and saying with a smile, "It's Me-He for Yoo-Hoo!"

Offered is a classic Yogi Berra/Yoo-Hoo promotional clock that was used to advertise the availability of the beverage in grocery stores. The 4 x 12 x 29-inch white plastic lighted clock features a line drawing of Berra in his #8 Yankees uniform at bat (from the back) at the left side, with the legend “Me for Yoo-Hoo Chocolate Drink the Drink of Champions!” across the center. At the ride side is a square clock face with red metal hour and minute hands. The illustration, legend, logo and clock face are printed in brown on the white plastic sign. There is a metal backing with metal hooks and chain at the top, and a 5-foot brown electrical cord with 1960s-era plugs on the back.
