Hall of Famer Warren Spahn was still giving National League batter fits during the 1962 season, even at the age of 41. Spahn’s 1962 season saw the lefty go 18-14 with a respectable 3.04 ERA and 118 strikeouts. Spahn wore this Milwaukee Braves cap during the 1962 season. This size 6 7/8 Wilson cap is navy with a red brim. The front of the cap has “M” embroidered in white and there are six panels on the crown with a red button on the top. Spahn’s number “21” is handwritten in black marker on the green underside of the brim. Stamped on the inside of the cloth sweatband is “ETC” with E=2, T=July and C=cap which indicates a July 1962 manufacture date. This hat displays heavy use with sweat stains on the inner cloth sweatband. This cap comes with a LOA from MEARS (315424) for the game use and a LOA from Greg Spahn, the son of Warren Spahn, who attests that this hat was part of his father’s personal collection.
