Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was awarded this 1963-64 Power Memorial Academy MVP trophy for his play during his junior year of high school basketball. Abdul-Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor, led Power on a 71-game winning streak during his time there, and was named the 1964 and 1965 Mr. Basketball USA. This trophy measures 18.5 inches tall and is topped by a 7.5-inch tall basketball player statuette. A sliding plaque on the base is etched with “Power / M.V.P. Award / Lew Alcindor / 1963-64”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
