In 1963, the New York Yankees won 104 regular season games to win the American League with a comfortable 10.5 game lead over the Chicago White Sox. Although the Yankees had a dominant season, injuries to Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris prevented the Yankees stars from playing up to their skill level in the World Series, where the Yanks fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games. This Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball has been signed by 26 members of the ’63 Yankees, with Hall of Famers Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle’s signatures appearing on the sweet spot of this ball. Other signatures include Hall of Famer Whitey Ford, Johnny Sain, Elston Howard, Tony Kubek, Tom Tresh, Phil Linz, Hector Lopez, Bill Stafford, Clete Boyer, Marshall Bridges, Al Downing, Jack Reed, Tom Metcalf, Jim Hegan, Steve Hamilton, Jake Gibbs, Bill Kunkel, Harry Bright, Hal Reniff, and several more. Please note that the signatures of Mantle, Bright, Boyer, and Bridges have been deemed clubhouse signatures. The signatures have been written in blue and black pen. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Y29383).
