Richie Allen spent 15 years in the Major Leagues. Allen made his debut with the Philadelphia Phillies during the tail end of the 1963 season where he appeared in 10 games. Allen would then burst onto the scene in 1964 as his 29 home runs, 91 RBI and .318 batting average earned him the National League Rookie of the Year. His next three seasons between 1965 and 1967 would all be all-star seasons.
Offered is this Adirondack 194VP model bat that was used by Allen during the 1964 through 1967 seasons. This bat displays outstanding use and has a crack on the handle. There are ball marks and checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. The model number “194VP” is stamped on the knob. This is a great gamer from one of the top players of the mid-1960s and it comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15216) and has been graded a solid GU 8.5.
