Former Major League first baseman Art Shamsky spent eight seasons as a pro with the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Chicago Cubs and Oakland A’s. Shamsky spent the majority of his career with the Mets and was a key contributor to the Amazin’s run to the World Series title in 1969. In 1964, Shamsky was finishing his last season in the minors with the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League in the Cincinnati Reds organization before making his Major League debut in 1965.
This offered Hillerich & Bradsby M110 model bat was used by Shamsky during the 1964 season while he was with the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League. This bat displays outstanding use and has a crack on the handle that has been repaired with nails. The bat has a water-stained finish and there are numerous ball marks and cleat imprints present throughout the barrel. The knob has a small edge chip. Shamsky signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “Best Wishes”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14912) and has been graded a GU 7 for the game use and a COA from JSA (S85859).
