The Buffalo Bills completely dominated the American Football League during the 1964 season, finishing ranked first in the league in both points scored and points allowed en route to a 12-2 record. In the league championship game, the Bills defeated the San Diego Chargers 20-7 to win the AFL title. Running back Cookie Gilchrist ran for 981 yards and six touchdowns, while receiver Elbert Dubenion recorded 1,139 yards on just 42 catches (an insane 27.1 yards per catch), with 10 TDs.

Offered here is a Josten’s 10K gold 1964 Buffalo Bills AFL Champions ring, presented to head coach Lou Saban. The face is centered by raised relief work of the team logo, which features images of both a buffalo and a football player inside the shape of a football. A single round diamond appears below the logo, splitting the display of the year 1964. “BUFFALO BILLS AFL CHAMPIONS” appears around the perimeter, with a small star on each side. The left shank of the ring features the AFL logo as well as the teams and final score of the championship game. Appearing at the top of the opposite shank is the name “SABAN” with an image of the Bills team helmet shown below the coach’s name. An image of a football is shown at the bottom. Inside the band - which has a very tiny chip approximately 1 mm in size - appears “JOSTEN 10K”. This ring is an approximate size 13 ½ and weighs approximately 27.3 grams. A similar 1964 Buffalo Bills ring that was presented to their announcer sold for $12,650 in February of 2017 and Sid Gillman' coach's ring from the 1963 AFL Champion San Diego Chargers sold for $43,000.
