Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was awarded this Catholic High School Athletic Association All City Tournament Varsity First Place trophy in 1964, his junior year at Power Memorial Academy. Abdul-Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor, was head and shoulders the best high school player in the country, picking up Mr. Basketball USA honors in 1964 and 1965. This trophy measures 3 x 5.5 inches at the base and 9 inches tall with a protruding section on the front that features a 6.5-inch tall statuette of a basketball player. A plaque on this award reads “C.H.S.A.A. All City Tournament / Varsity / 1st Place / 1964”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
