Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who was then known as Lew Alcindor, was presented with this plaque commemorating the first game between Abdul-Jabbar’s Power Memorial Academy and DeMatha High School of Maryland in 1964. Power won this game, keeping their eventual 71-game winning streak alive. This wooden plaque measures 4.25 x 6 inches and has a raised 2-inch diameter image of two basketball players affixed to the plaque. A small metal plaque reads “DeMatha – Power Memorial / Feb. 1, 1964”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
