Like his predecessor Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski had a long and productive career with Boston that landed him in the Hall of Fame. His finest season was the year of Boston’s “Impossible Dream” - 1967. Yaz hit .326 with 44 homers and 121 RBI and earned himself the American League Triple Crown and MVP Award. But it was his batting heroics that truly made his 1967 season one for the ages. In the last two weeks of a nail-biting pennant race with Detroit and Minnesota, Yaz hit .513 with five home runs, including an incredible 7-for-8 with six RBI in the last two games to hoist the Sox to a one game finish over Minnesota and Detroit. Although Boston lost the World Series, Yastrzemski hit Cardinals pitching to the tune of .400 with three home runs. This bat dates from the 1965-1968 seasons when Yaz was the King of Boston. The Hillerich & Bradsby W215 model bat shows outstanding use with a crack going from the back of the handle to the barrel. An incredible piece of Boston baseball history that comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10900) for the game use.
