Mickey Mantle came into 1965 as number 5 on the list of career home runs and undisputedly the most popular player in the game. But 15 years of tough Major League campaigns were catching up and he spent stretches of the season on the disabled list. Still, Mantle managed to hit 19 home runs and make the All-Star team. The next season he surpassed and expectations by hitting another 23 homers and then in 1967 became only the sixth man to hit 500 career home runs.

This Hillerich & Bradsby model M110 bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. “M110” is stamped to the knob and there are two chips on the knob, ball marks on the barrel and several marks on the side of the barrel that would indicate game use. PSA/DNA cannot solely attribute use by Mantle as the top barrel appears to have the number “1” and not “7”.  The M110 model was preferred by Mantle and the pro-stock model was the K55, PSA has determined that this M110 bat is not a pro-stock bat and therefore was not used for spring training, so only regular season use would be attributed.  This is a great late-career gamer manufactured for Mantle that comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. Please see posted PSA/LOA on our website for full details on the bat (1B09955).
