Kareem Abdul-Jabbar earned this 1965 C.H.S.A.A. first place trophy during his senior season at Power Memorial Academy. Abdul-Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor, was one of the top prep basketball players in the country, earning national acclaim and packing gyms as early as his freshman season. The lanky center led Power on a 71-game winning streak during his time there, with numerous publications naming his 1965 Power team as the greatest in high school basketball history. This offered trophy measures 18 inches tall and is topped by a 6.5-inch-tall gold-colored statuette of a basketball player. A removable plaque on the base reads “C.H.S.A.A. / Varsity 1st Place / 1965”. The base measures 7 x 3.5 inches. This trophy comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
