Winter 2020 Catalog Auction Ending Feb 22
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2020
Offered is the Minnesota Twins American League Champs 1965 plaque that once hung on the office walls of Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. The 18 ½ x 22 ½-inch brown wood framed display features three gold metal elements on a black metal background, including an 4 x 15-inch engraved plate reading “American League Champs” over an 9 x 10-inch engraved Minnesota Twins logo and the engraved legend “1965” with the Twins “TC” logo in the bottom center. The metal on the Twins logo in the center shows some signs of wear, with no other obvious defects in the display. The 1965 Twins won the 1965 American League pennant with a 102–60 record. It was the team's first pennant since moving from Washington, D.C. to Minnesota, and the 102 wins remains a team record. The Twins lost the 1965 World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4 games to 3.
